Johnny Manziel Makes His NFL Debut With The Browns Coming Off The Bench In The Third Quarter To Loud Ovation
Johnny Manziel has made his NFL regular-season debut, coming off the bench for the Cleveland Browns in the third quarter Sunday against New Orleans. The hyped rookie quarterback replaced starter Brian Hoyer and handed the ball off to Isaiah Crowell for a 3-yard gain before returning to the sideline.
Manziel received a loud ovation from Cleveland fans, some of whom have been clamoring for him to start since the Browns selected him in the first round. Cleveland has a package of plays designed for the mobile Manziel, the former Heisman Trophy winner from Texas A&M.
Manziel showed some flashes of promise during the exhibition season, but was unable to unseat Hoyer as Cleveland's starter.
